On 30 October the IRGC Navy claimed four tankers exploded in the Strait of Hormuz, one from a mine, and that it had shot down and captured a US MQM-170 drone and destroyed an unmanned surface vessel. UKMTO confirmed one vessel was struck by an unknown projectile about 40 nautical miles south of Lavan Island, while CENTCOM denied the USV claim, saying all its unmanned surface vessels are accounted for. On 31 October Mojtaba Khamenei was reported to have ordered a response without geographic limits.
