Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara said on 30 October that the government had launched a dedicated cyber-response page on the National Cyber Office website listing help desks and alerts, and reiterated that an emergency package including stronger support for victim companies and access-neutralisation measures would be compiled by around next week. Preliminary figures from the Personal Information Protection Commission put data leaked through unauthorised access between 1 April and 16 October at about 260 million records. Digital Minister Furukawa, who also handles cyber security, said the page would be updated continuously.
