At around noon on 28 October, about 16–17 nautical miles east of Cape Kaliakra inside Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone, the Liberian-flagged container ship Contship Jet (421 containers, sailing from Haifa to Constanța) was hit by sea drones; all 18 crew were rescued by the Bulgarian Navy and others and taken to Varna. Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said three drones were involved, and the ship is reported listing and to have lost containers. No attribution has been made officially; following merchant-ship losses in mid-October, the defence ministers of Bulgaria, Romania and Türkiye met the same day on Black Sea maritime security (B2).
